The LoadDown -- 02/02/2012

Something wicked(-ly fun) this way comes...

WiiWare -- One new title this week, continuing the new episodic adventures of a long-running educational game villain, with Carmen Sandiego Adventures in Math: The Great Gateway Grab.

DSiWare -- Just one new title, as support slowly shifts from the DSi to the 3DS:  GO Series -- Undead Storm, a Smash TV-style shooter with blocky polygon graphics and a surprising amount of "Fantasy violence" for an E-10+-rated game.  Green blood must be more family-friendly than red blood in the eyes of the ESRB.

3DS eShop -- One new downloadable game, Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword, an original, T-rated 3-D slash-'em-up action game that feels like a "lost" Nintendo 64 game and is presented in full 3-D.

XBox Live Arcade -- Two new downloadable games for the XBox 360 Kinect motion camera this week:  Konami's Rhythm Party is a music/dance game, naturally, with a very DDR feel about the music, including tracks by Naoki, Lisa Lisa, and... Vanilla Ice?!?  Next up is Double Fine Happy Action Theater, bringing Tim Schafer and friends' (Psychonauts, Costume Quest) unique brand of humor and fun to Kinect with an interactive experience that's more of a toy than a game -- but in a good way.

PS3 on PSN -- One new game this week: Puddle, the 2-D puzzle game with an emphasis on fluid physics that began life as a student project in France (and arrived last week on XBLA -- nice to see more simultaneous and near-simultaneous releases on both platforms.)

PSOne Classics -- Another quiet week here, but I'm not giving up yet.
